We are seeking a Director of Quality Assurance.  PECO personnel regularly interface with our customers, suppliers, and coworkers across business unit lines within manufacturing, accounting, purchasing, sales & customer service, and engineering to analyze needs and develop solutions.  It is imperative to our growth that we have a team of individuals who are willing to challenge ideas and continuously strive to make improvements.
 
As a member of the senior management team, the Director of Quality Assurance will be accountable for a variety of matters ranging from strategic planning to operational execution.  In addition, the position is responsible for overseeing the quality department and ensuring the company maintains their reputation as a supplier of the highest quality and reliability. More specifically, the Director of Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans that support the annual business plan and long term strategy.
  • Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards.
  • Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments.
  • Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and time lines.
  • Report as necessary on changes in standard (internally and externally) and on performance against standard.
  • Support and coordinate the design review process between PECO and supplier.
  • Facilitates Continuous improvement in the Quality Department to ensure long term efficiency and effectiveness of the Quality Department.
  • Perform on-site supplier qualification and evaluations.
  • Performs Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly.
  • Define key metrics to track quality performance and activities to support improvement to these metrics

Top candidates will have a 4-year degree in a technical discipline and 10-15 years of increasing quality management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To be considered for the position, candidate must have knowledge and experience in ISO 9000 and aerospace requirements including NADCAP and AS9100. Candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of key statistical concepts, including but not limited to SPC run charts, sampling plans, process capability analysis and gage R&R studies. Lean Six Sigma training is preferred but not required. An advanced business degree is desirable, but not required. .  Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills are a must.  The ability to think and work both strategically and operationally is essential.
