Marketing Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute an owner acquisition strategy to drive new listing growth for HomeAway.  This includes new customer prospecting through online and offline channels and marketing to HomeAway’s prospect database.
  • Use of analytic tools to understand user flow and owner conversion based on the site and through other channels such as email marketing campaigns
  • Manage and develop all email and print communications
  • Manage strategic partnerships and affiliates
  • Ongoing management of site merchandising and messaging to drive owner listings
  • Develop and execute owner retention program that drives owner renewal rates.  Areas of focus include increasing owner satisfaction, driving listing performance through inquiry management and working with customer support and sales to optimize customer relationships.
  • Management and execution of all customer communications
  • Coordinate with sales and customer support teams on messages and offers
  • Develop and execute on go-to-market plans for HomeAway product launches and promotion of key product offerings including rental guarantees, insurance for travelers, solicitation of reviews and new feature/functionality as released.
  • Coordinate with product management team on product roadmap and requirements
  • Work cross functionally within the organization to develop and distribute product messaging
  • Develop and update promotional copy that appears on the site and in customer communications
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives to drive site traffic and repeat traveler visits including:
  • Lead traffic forecast development and management to ensure goals are met
  • Work with SEO and SEM teams to ensure traffic goals are met within each channel
  • Develop and execute creative promotional campaigns to meet key business goals
  • Manage overall marketing budget, including external agency partners, direct marketing efforts, promotions, affiliate and PPC spend.
  • Understand competitive marketplace to help identify new product ideas to positively differentiate HomeAway.com.
  • Understand customer satisfaction drivers for travelers and owners that drive improved performance and revenue opportunities for HomeAway.
  • Work with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Design, Research, and PR, meet corporate and brand objectives
 
 
Job Knowledge & Skills: 
  • Prior product marketing experience, including developing and executing successful marketing campaigns based on customer segmentation, targeting, and product positioning
  • Experience with site merchandising including online lead generation and purchase conversion
  • Strong copywriting skills with experience writing for online/direct response a plus
  • Experience with consumer Internet products, with an interest/experience in the travel industry a plus
  • Proven track record of influencing people, including senior management
  • Possess a strong mix of both analytic ability and creative thinking
  • People manager experience is preferred
  • Position will require candidates to work independently and proactively as well as collaboratively in an entrepreneurial environment, with excellent project management and communications skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in online advertising, email marketing, search marketing and website coordination and development preferred
