Choosing Jobvite
nGenera equips companies for leadership in their industries, which it calls being a next generation enterprise, or NGE. Its offerings include world-renowned research, executive development, and a unique platform of on demand software. nGenera’s recruiting methods reflect its mission to help companies do business in the era of the Net Generation, which it has researched and written on extensively.

The fast-growing company required a talent acquisition system that would keep pace with rapid expansion. The staffing team was already using a broad range of social media for recruitment, such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. But Talent Acquisition Manager Katie Carty Tierney had only an Excel spreadsheet to track candidates.

Finding the right match
Jobvite allows flexibility in sourcing candidates, enabling recruiters to place job information in the places their target candidates frequent. nGenera has a company Facebook page where potential candidates can find out more about the company. Katie frequently updates her status on both Twitter and Facebook. She also searches for people who are Twittering on certain topics, then researches them on LinkedIn.

“At nGenera, we look for employees that we describe as ‘big brains-small egos’ and who will thrive in an entrepreneurial company,” said Susie Buehler, head of nGenera’s People Services team. “These people are often ahead of the technology curve and are already using social networks, microblogs, and other next generation tools. Jobvite enables us to tap today’s workforce.”

nGenera uses Jobvite not only to recruit the right fit from external sources, but also to complement its internal referral incentive program. Employees send Jobvites to any contact in their address book and earn a referral bonus if their referral gets the job.

“Jobvite treats the entire organization as a recruiting machine, leveraging the social networks of all employees to build a pipeline of great candidates,” said Tierney.
Streamlined workflow
Before Jobvite, nGenera had manually intensive systems for managing recruitment and approvals, which slowed the entire hiring process. Not only do administrative delays extend time to hire, but increase the risk of losing top talent.

Jobvite’s Software as a Service application has streamlined the recruitment workflow from posting to hire providing transparency throughout the process.

“Jobvite provides me with information that once was hidden,” said Tierney. “Jobvite is intuitive, it’s easy on the eyes and it’s simple to customize. It helps me manage collections of candidates to make classification and communication easier. In short, it simplifies the recruitment process by putting all of the relevant information in the talent acquisition process right at my finger tips.”
Results
nGenera’s use of Jobvite has yielded valuable returns on multiple fronts. With a streamlined process and real-time data, the small talent acquisition team can work closely with their hiring managers to fill jobs quickly. By using Jobvite to maximize hiring from employee referrals and social networking, nGenera finds high quality candidates at less expense.
