Social Recruiting Innovator Connects Veterans with Job Opportunities at the Fastest Growing Companies in the Country
SAN FRANCISCO – JANUARY 18, 2012 – In response to a White House call to action to support military families and veterans, Jobvite, the leading recruiting platform for the social web, introduced Apps for Heroes – new technologies to help veterans more easily find and connect to civilian jobs. - Jobvite customers can flag job opportunities specifically targeted for veterans, so they are automatically added to the Veterans Job Bank.
- Companies using Jobvite can also add the Veterans Affairs’ Blue Button to their career sites, allowing veterans to easily attach their military service history when applying online.
- These companies can also take advantage of the White House’s Returning Heroes Tax Credit initiatives, which offers incentives for hiring unemployed veterans.

More than 850,000 post-9/11 veterans were unemployed as of October 2011, and President Obama challenged American employers to hire or train 100,000 unemployed veterans and their spouses by 2013. More than one million service members are projected to leave the military through 2016.
